The free camp

What actually
happens

The camp, the community days and the meals — what each one is, who it is for, and what it costs to attend. The answer to the last one is always nothing.

Ultimate Spin Basketball Camp

A one-day camp for boys and girls aged 8–14 at HACC's Evans Physical Education Center in Harrisburg, 9am to 3pm. Campers rotate through skills groups — shooting, passing, rebounding — then break for life-skills sessions on nutrition, leadership and money. The 2023 edition was the 21st consecutive year and drew more than 100 children; the 2026 edition drew more than 100 again.

Meals for neighbours without housing

The foundation works with AMIRACLE 4 Sure to serve hot meals and bring resources to the lot where many of Harrisburg's homeless residents live. After a Globetrotters game at the Giant Center, Franklin and several players spent one of their few days off the road serving food there.

Why you will not find a price anywhere on this siteThe Handles Foundation does not sell anything — not tickets, not places at the camp, not merchandise. The camp is free, the community days are free, the meals are free. Places at the camp are capped rather than priced: the flyer states free for the first 100 to sign up, and registration is a Google Form. The foundation publishes no fee schedule, no ticket price and no shop, so none has been invented here.
